Traveling by Road to Huatulco
You may travel on the Federal Highway Nrs. 95 and 200 from Mexico City via Acapulco to Huatulco (aprox. 940 km) or chose the Super Highway that takes you from Mexico City via Puebla to Oaxaca, and from there via Pochutla or Salina Cruz to Huatulco. (We strongly recommend the latter of the two, because of much superior road conditions)
First class bus lines ADO GL and ESTRELLA BLANCA offer one or more daily departures to and from Mexico City, Acapulco, Oaxaca, Puebla, Tuxtla Gutierrez, Tapachula, Veracruz, Puerto Escondido and Pochutla.

Mexico, one of the world's most complete tourism destination, due to its great variety of attractions offers in the state of Oaxaca a unique exaple of harmonic conjunction between an exhuberant nature and wildlife, with the still very present colonial culture and the invaluable contributions of our indigenous origins.
It's precisely in this state rich with natural resources, a privileged location, and an agreeably warm and sunny climate, where the Mexican government is developing the integrated tourism destination "Bays of Huatulco", one of the may earthly paradises that Mexico has to offer to its visitors.
Location
The Bays of Huatulco are located 277 kms south of Oaxaca, the state capital, and only a 50 minutes flight from Mexico City, and offers also access by road and sea.
The sub-tropical climate allows us to enjoy an average of 326 sunny days and only 40 days with rain per year, with an annual average temperature of 28º C, and average extreme temperatures of 18ºC in winter and 38ºC at the end of spring and in summer.
The savage natural beauty of the region is due to its location in the foothills of the Sierra Madre del Sur, whose topography is accentuated by mountains, sheer cliffs and valleys and complemented by the rivers of Coyula, San Agustín and Copalita.
Further attraction to the area is added by the two traditional port towns of Puerto Angel (52 km) and Puerto Escondido (109 km), as well as the quaint village of Sta. Maria Huatulco (34 km) and Pochutla (40 km). |
